In honor of Isa's birthday we asked 3 young Azerbaijani artists to illustrate a piece of his writing. We believe from these words you can understand what kind of person Isa was. His world is open to any one with an open heart. And we hope one day soon his vision can be a reality. English translation in the description.
Love is Love
When we say “sevgi ela sevgidir” we give voice to them, to ourselves, and to all of those people who have forgotten it. Isa loved the words “love is love” because they cut to a simple truth. The way you feel is okay. The way you feel is real. The way you feel is pure. There are many, many people in the world that feel the same way. This is the most important thing: we are not alone in this world. At times it can feel that way, but there are millions of people out there that love you and support you. Too many people to fit into a single day, too many people for a single picture. Love is Love, and it's everywhere around us. And if we believe in it, if we see it in our coworkers, in our friends, in strangers on the street or a face on the internet, if we make that first step towards trusting each other and working together, there's nothing we can't accomplish. Love is Love. Isa knew this, we know this, and now it's time to show the world it's true.
Love is Love at IDS
Our Love is Love campaign wouldn't have been nearly as successful without IDS. These are just some of the pictures they contributed
